Then repeat the process with the window rolled down approximately 5cm. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eClean the rubber ridge on the inside of the car window. If you do not do this, there is a risk that dust will fall from the ridge onto the window during installation.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e2. To do this, apply two pieces of tape to either side of the corner of the film, press together and then separate them to expose which side is the clear liner.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSpray the soapy solution over the \u003cstrong\u003eoutside\u003c\/strong\u003e of the window and temporarily lay the film onto it as smoothly as possible with the \u003cstrong\u003eclear liner facing you\u003c\/strong\u003e. Spray the solution over the top of the film. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUse the Blade (included) to carefully cut the film to the shape of the window as accurately as possible but be sure to \u003cstrong\u003eleave 5cm excess film overhanging the bottom of the window.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTIP:\u003c\/strong\u003e Roll the window down 1cm and cut across the top of the window to get an accurate size and shape.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e3. Film Application\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePeel the liner off the window film using the same tape method used under film preparation.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUse the soapy solution to generously spray all over \u003cstrong\u003eboth\u003c\/strong\u003e the exposed adhesive side of the film \u003cstrong\u003eand\u003c\/strong\u003e the \u003cstrong\u003einside\u003c\/strong\u003e of the window. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBeing careful not to let the film touch itself or crease, remove it from the \u003cstrong\u003eoutside\u003c\/strong\u003e of the window and roll the window down 1cm before carefully placing it in position on the \u003cstrong\u003einside\u003c\/strong\u003e of the window.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTIP: \u003c\/strong\u003eWhere possible, ask someone else to roll the window down while you are holding the film.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSpray the film generously and use the Squeegee to stroke across the top of the window. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRoll the window to the top and slip the bottom of the film underneath the window gasket. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTIP: \u003c\/strong\u003eUse a credit card to help you push the film under the window gasket. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSqueegee the film onto the window, always pushing out from the centre to the edges in order to rid the film of air or water bubbles. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAllow any fingers that may have appeared to dry for 5 minutes and then gently smooth them down with the Squeegee.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAllow up to 15 days for the film to fully cure. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eRear Window Fitting Instructions:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf your rear window is relatively flat and without curves, follow the same instructions as for the Side Window Fitting. If your rear window has curves then you will need to follow the following instructions to cut the film into strips.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCopy the \u003cstrong\u003eWindow Preparation \u003c\/strong\u003ephase from the Side Window Fitting Instructions to clean the rear window. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDetermine which side of the film is the clear liner. To do this, apply two pieces of tape to either side of the corner of the film, press together and then separate them to expose which side is the clear liner.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSpray the rear window. Then place the film temporarily on the \u003cstrong\u003eoutside\u003c\/strong\u003e of the window with the liner facing you, spray the film and \u003cstrong\u003egently\u003c\/strong\u003e use the Squeegee to flatten the film. The number of points where the film does not lie flat will indicate the how many strips you will need and how wide they will need to be. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRemove the film from the window and cut into horizontal strips that will allow for a 1-2mm overlap over one another. It is likely that you will only need 2 or 3 strips but you may need more if there is a severe curvature. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThen re-spray the \u003cstrong\u003eoutside\u003c\/strong\u003e of the window and lay the strips in place with the 1-2mm overlap. If they still do not lie flat, then cut the strips thinner. Lie all the strips on the outside of the window and spray wet. Then squeegee it smooth and trim the edges of the strips to accurately fit the window.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCAUTION:\u003c\/strong\u003e If you have electrically heated rear windows, take great caution not to cut or break the heating tracks or this could seriously damage the heating system. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOne strip at a time, remove the liner and spray generously on \u003cstrong\u003eboth\u003c\/strong\u003e the revealed adhesive side \u003cstrong\u003eand\u003c\/strong\u003e the \u003cstrong\u003einside\u003c\/strong\u003e of the window. Remove each piece from the \u003cstrong\u003eoutside\u003c\/strong\u003e of the window and carefully stick to the \u003cstrong\u003einside\u003c\/strong\u003e of the window from the top-down as accurately as possible.
